Oral Emergencies are no joke

Call us immediately if you need help.

Step away from the super glue

If your tooth or teeth are broken during an accident, do not try and fix the tooth using super glue. If you attempt to reattach a filling, crown or chip with super glue, your dentist will have to work even harder to fix the problem. Removing an ill-placed crown that is super-glued is not easy. The best advice is to call us immediately.

What about a broken filling?

Even with the best dentistry, broken fillings can happen. If a filling falls out or breaks, don’t panic—but do call us. A broken filling can leave your tooth weakened and more susceptible to breaking. It also exposes the tooth root to infection. The tooth will also be sensitive, so be careful.

What to do if your filling falls out

  • Take an over the counter pain reliever if you need it
  • Rinse your mouth out with water
  • Use a cold compress or ice pack if you have swelling

Can’t I just go to the hospital emergency room?

If it is the emergency is isolated to your teeth and gums, the hospital emergency room is not well equipped to handle dental trauma.
